AN active transportation and trails master plan for Oromocto

The Town of Oromocto is developing an Active Transportation and Trails Master Plan, and we want to hear from you!

The Town’s current Active Transportation Plan was adopted in 2012 and has helped guide the development of active transportation routes, connections, and network design throughout the community. Since then, Oromocto has continued to grow and evolve, along with the needs of its residents and surrounding communities.

The Town is now updating the plan to:

  • Review and refine previously identified routes and important destinations

  • Expand the focus to include trail networks within the Town and connections to adjacent communities

  • Ensure the plan reflects the recent changes to the Town’s boundary as well as the community’s evolving demographics and transportation needs

The new Active Transportation and Trails Plan will help guide future investments and improvements over the next ten years, supporting safer, more connected, and more accessible ways for residents and visitors to move throughout Oromocto.

What is active transportation?

Active transportation uses human-powered forms of travel, such as walking, running, biking, and rolling to get from one place to another. Walking to school or biking to work are examples of active transportation. We want to hear about how active transportation plays or can play a role in your lifestyle.

How TO participate

Community input plays an important role in developing the master plan! Throughout the project, residents, stakeholders and community organizations will have opportunities to share ideas, provide feedback, and stay informed as the plan develops. Details on upcoming engagement activities and feedback opportunities will be posted on this page as the project progresses, so be sure to check back, and please join the conversation!
